Following the resounding success of Park Meadows Senior Apartments, NeighborWorks® Pocatello (NWP) and its trusted development partner, Desert Ridge Investments, have broken ground on Park Meadows II, a 24-unit affordable senior housing community designed to meet the growing demand for safe, stable, and high-quality housing for residents aged 55 and older. Construction began after a well-attended groundbreaking ceremony in May 2025, marking another major step forward in addressing Pocatello’s critical need for senior housing. Like its predecessor, Park Meadows II is being developed through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, made possible with support from the Idaho Housing and Finance Association.
Each of the 24 units in Park Meadows II will feature one bedroom and one bathroom, offering comfortable and accessible homes for low-income seniors. Two of the units will be designated as permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals, bringing the total to five such units across both Park Meadows developments. Residents for these specialized apartments will be referred through Aid for Friends, ensuring that some of the community’s most vulnerable seniors have access to safe and supportive housing. In addition, residents of Park Meadows II will enjoy shared amenities with Park Meadows I including access to community gathering spaces, social events, and supportive programs that promote connection and well-being.
Located just north of the original complex, Park Meadows II is revitalizing an underdeveloped area on the city’s south end while helping to relieve the growing waiting list that is currently more than 20 people long for Park Meadows I. Completion is slated for April 2026, and excitement is already building among future residents eager to join this thriving community. With this expansion, NeighborWorks® Pocatello continues to fulfill its mission of strengthening neighborhoods and improving lives proving once again that when thoughtful development meets genuine community care, lasting change takes root.
