To recognize property owners who excel in landscaping around their homes, NeighborWorks® Pocatello in conjunction with its six targeted neighborhood associations offers the “Curb Appeal Award”. The awards are issued on an annual basis through a nomination process. Six grand prize awards are issued – one from each of the respective central Pocatello neighborhoods, which include Bonneville, Alameda, Mountain View, Lewis & Clark, Historic University, and Historic Downtown.
To further recognize new or existing residents living in the central neighborhoods who invest significant resources in fixing up and transforming the outside of their homes, a second award, called the “Most Improved Property” was recently introduced. Whereas the Curb Appeal Award primarily recognizes residents who do an outstanding job with landscaping, the Most Improved Award recognizes those who have gone a step further and have transformed in a significant way the physical structure of their homes and the surrounding landscaping.
Winners in each category receive a $25 gift card from Pinehurst Floral & Greenhouse, are provided with recognition sign in their front yard, and are personally presented with a congratulatory letter from the local neighborhood association leadership.
To nominate a resident for the Curb Appeal Award or Most Improved Award, call the NeighborWorks Pocatello Office at (208) 232 9468 or send an email to curbappealward@nwpocatello.org. All locations nominated are judged by peers living within their perspective neighborhood. Each nominee will receive a “kudos” letter even if they are not chosen as the grand prize winner or live outside of one of the six neighborhoods listed above.
